CRPS physiotherapy treatment is primarily aimed at normalising function. Select treatments according to the patient’s symptoms. A combination of treatments (see Symptoms to Manage) may help. Don’t overburden your patient. A general rule: best start with one or two simple interventions. Carefully assess the response. In early CRPS, be prepared to add clinically reasoned treatments fairly rapidly.
But caveat: Trying a treatment too soon can result in increasing symptoms and loss of confidence. In the worst case this can create a barrier to patient progress.
